Elite Find of the Day: Race Against Time, Balancing Time Clock
Posted in Elite Find of the Day, Gadgets, Products, Shopping on 31 May 2008

Balancing Time Clock

Truly, this model of clock would loosen the weight of your wallet but I can help being occupied with its atypical design and cute minuscule figures. And above all the philosophical statement on life attached to it i.e. Man’s tough struggle against the time is suffice to restrain anyone’s attention. Designed and developed by artists Malcom and Mary Ann Owen, it is a perfect fun for those in a habit of clock watching.

Created using copper, brass and silver, its teeny tiny figurines push the weights in order to turn back time. It aims to be teaching a clear lesson that you shouldn’t bother about the clock, as beating it is impossible, so enjoy whatever time you have.

The Orbit: Infant Travel System
Posted in Automobile, Designer, Entertainment on 31 May 2008

The Orbit

Those who have little infants at their home must be looking for ways to pamper them. And here is one that can blindly be picked if you have some rich budget to spill over. Called Orbit Travel Systems, it was love at first sight for me. What enabled me to ink a deal with it was it’s at a baby boutique, where it got sold immediately. Designed by Stanford graduates Bryan White and Joseph Hei, it is the result of the rumor thought (a wife expected her hubby to get her the travel system that she can easily carry up their stairs, by herself, with one hand), and keeping that in mind Orbit was born.

This comfy, safest and most expedient travel system available in the market is retailed at $900. Its unique rotate enables the car seat part to load it from any angle and safety is assured via its locking feature. Whilst it’s used as a stroller, you baby can enjoy a ride over it. Unlike other strollers, the Orbit pushes and is appealingly cute and light.

Elite Find of the Day: Microsoft’s “Home of the Future”

Home of the Future

Till date we have been welcoming futuristic creation of homes by various designers. How about lending attention to Microsoft’s reflection of the “Home of the Future”? A software company took it as an opportunity to create a mock home that fits well the title of technology-driven home for tomorrow. The home erected at their campus in Redmond, Washington is now 15 years old but the topical restoration sports Microsoft’s prophecy of how household electronics and amenities should look and can look in coming years.

Through the mock model, it has been clearly conveyed that everything in this home runs on a central network together with cell phones and even home’s doorbell located as nodes on that network. The entry of family members to the home is easily identified by their mobile devices and hence they receive a warm welcome. Equipped with the RFID factor, virtually everything in this home is embedded with radio-frequency-identification technology. There is also a possibility of installing a system, which understands the need for scattered things to go back where it belongs. At kitchen front, while pulling out the needed appliances and ingredients, the “smart kitchen” can sense what they are about to make and hence helps them by enabling the countertop display the recipe.

But this is not all. In order to maintain its exclusivity, Microsoft’s future home does not consist of walls and surfaces covered with PC monitors and screens.

Enlighten Desktop PC

Suissa is not a new name in the production of revolutionary custom-built wooden PCs. Maintaining the consistency and its reputation, it keeps on updating its profile by adding more luxurious offerings that aim to make you realize your need. Latest in talks is a company’s new Enlighten model that pushes the company’s eccentric creations to a different height. This new custom built PC adores this glass, wood and metal harmony and may lead to a bit of confusion for a while, there giving it an appeal of a neo-industrial sculpture. The Canadian luxury computer maker has offered a first-class personalization grade to match the PC-sculpture evenly to its divine interiors.

Beside its external beauty, it sports hard technical hardware i.e. an AMD X2 6400+, single NVIDIA 8800GTX, 4GB memory and 1TB hard drive space.

Pong Dinner Table

Geeks like a geeky touch in every single product that is a part of their day-to-day lifestyle. And besides riding in the company of unique gadgets and workstation being surrounded by feature-packed accessories, a nerd would feel blessed to take his meal on a Pong dinner table. The table is holding a great reverence to all gadget lovers and in a way is paying a tribute to the video game that revolutionized the gaming industry long back. Thanks to designer Moritz Waldemeyer, who has designed this Corian table by embedding it with 2,400 LED lights plus quite a few trackpads, thereby giving this 1972 Atari game a contemporary appeal. For sure, the price attached would be a single digit followed by a few zeros.

Eudora

They may call it a lamp but it’s a chair designed using fiberglass. Called Eudora, this unique chair upholstered in fabric, and encased in resin is enlightened from within. Its beguiling and bizarre appeal gets success in inviting attention. During twilight time, it can be installed in your dark room and you can easily switch off all lights and even put all lamps on rest. If you have some spare dough and loves throwing gala parties then this can make you stand in news for a long. Don’t spend on lightning this time but rather go ahead with these chairs that would totally shun the need of lights even during a late-night celebration.

But this luxury chair won’t cheap and aims at taking the burden of your wallet with its $2,949 price tag.
