Caterham RS Seven: Racing Beast Two-Folds Bugatti Veyron’s Power-to-Weight Ratio

RS Seven

Here is a perfect piece of news for those who want an appearance of British sports car exceptionality. Caterham Motors, an established name in the realm of racing world, has teamed up with RS Performance to produce the ultra-modern Caterham RS Seven, the ultimate in adapted Seven coach building.

Known as RS Seven, it is a replica of other automobiles designed by Caterham but stands aside in terms of specifications. Hidden under the hood is a bug killer with a 500+ horsepower. The coupe gets its fluid from a 40-valve, 2.4 litre RST-V8 engine that conveys an over 500bhp as a supercharged variant. But if it is too much for then the detachable supercharger can be removed, thereby bringing the numbers down to a modest 380 hp and 190 ft/lbs of torque. Now here lies the core of the news: the lightweight racing beast produces a power-to-weight ratio of over 1000bhp per tonne, almost double of a Bugatti Veyron. This roadster can be yours by shelling out £115,000 ($230,000).
