Giant Kansas Meteorite Set For Auction

A 1,410-pound meteorite, jerked two years ago from a wheat field near Greensburg, Kansas would be up for auction this month, expecting a pricey sale. Knows as Brenham meteorite, the largest of its kind would be one of two attractions at a meteorite sale scheduled for 28 October at the Bonhams auction house in New York. And till yet the curious visitors can calm themselves by witnessing this meteorite at Union Station in Kansas City. Since June, the meteorite is at display outside the planetarium. The USP of this Greensburg space rock is that it is the largest integral piece revealed from a seemingly stunning meteorite fall perhaps 10,000 years ago that strewed rocks throughout the landscape around Greensburg and nearby Brenham, Kan.

Estimated Price: $630,000 to $700,000
