Mid-20th Century Design to Fetch $2, 75,000 at Christie’s Auction

Rumor has been around that Christie’s auction house is about to make amendment in its portfolio of displaying only luxurious products for auction. Now the auction house in New York offers deserving respect to the low-cost products as well, the only prerequisite is its attached antediluvian relevance.

This time as a part of its “An Important Private Collection of Mid-20th Century Design” auction scheduled on 26 September, there will be home-décor accessories that you one can’t afford to miss.

Designed by Jean-Michel Frank, it is a mica-veneered wood table lamp from 1930s.

Expected cost: $60,000

Here is a set of eight oak side chairs for the Casa del Sole by Carlo Mollino from 1953.

All eyes on the patinated and waxed mild steel and polished stainless steel ‘Big Easy Volume 2’ chair. The chair was designed by Ron Arad from 1988.
