“Warlugulong 1977″- Clifford Possum’s painting worth $2.1 million

This displayed piece-of-art is a painting by Aboriginal artist Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri titled “Warlugulong 1977″. Going against the various rumors of its prospective price between $1.5 million -$1.8 million, the dot painting “Warlugulong 1977″ by the late Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, fetched a record price of $2.1 million at auction in Melbourne.

This cost of the painting is a clear reflection of the whopping interest of the people in Aboriginal art as the price is more than double the previous record of $1.056 million set in May by Emily Kame Kngwarreye’s “Earth’s Creation”.
